Good News – Govt announces winter vacation for All schools (1st tp 12th) in J&K

Srinagar, Nov 25: The Jammu and Kashmir government has decided to announce winter vacation for schools in three phases, starting December 5, officials said.

Principal Secretary School Education Department (SED), Alok Kumar confirmed to Greater Kashmir that the winter-vacation for students up to class 5th will commence from December 5 followed by 6th to 8th class students from December 12.

He said the winter vacation for students from 9th to 12th will commence from December 19.

We have made some changes in the proposal forwarded by the director education Kashmir. But the dates have been finalised and order has been issued as well,” he told Greater Kashmir.

Earlier, Director School Education Kashmir DSEK had proposed announcement of winter vacation for schools from December 1 of 2022 in view of the prevailing cold wave in Kashmir.

“The harsh winter starts from December 21 and schools will be closed before that,” Alok Kumar said. (GK)
